Paradise Blessings for August will be Bob Love and Jennifer Forrest (recovering from a debilitating illness that left her bedridden for several years and she is now getting married in September).  Please put your blessings in the basket in the entryway.

Bible Study will meet on Wednesday at 5:30 pm for fellowship and 5:00 pm for study at the Triponey home.​

​​

The Women's Service Group is preparing for the annual donation to the We Care Pregnancy Center in Punxsy.  We are collecting donated yarn in a box under the table in the vestibule.  All of you amazing fiber artists are welcome to use this yarn to knit and crochet items for this year's donation.  Completed items may be returned to the vestibule as well.  September 27th is the deadline.

The new Membership Committee is becoming the Visitation Committee and we need your help.  There are currently two members and many folks who would love a visit.  Please see Wendy Perry for more details.

August 30th, we will have baptisms at Paul and Lisa Triponey's house after the service.  Please see Pastor Vince if you are interested in being baptized.​

​

VBS will set up at 3 PM TODAY.

​​

There will be a one-room Sunday School class during the month of August for those wishing to attend a class.  All ages will be studying the book of James together following services.

​

This month's meal for Feeding His Flock will be Sloppy Joe's, potato salad, fruit salad and dessert.  It will be on August 22 from 4:45 - 6 pm.

​

Women's Service Group will be held on August 19 at the church with Debbie Pifer hosting and Tracy doing the lesson.

​​

The 150th Brass Band will practice Tuesday, August 18 at 6 pm.

​

The Corn & Doggie Roast will be on Sunday, August 16 at 6 pm.  Please bring a side or dessert and hot dogs and buns to share.

​

Consistory will meet on Thursday, August 13 at 7 pm.

​

Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, August 10 through Wednesday, August 12 from 6:30-8 pm.

150th CHURCH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Our special 150th church service will be held Sunday, September 13 at 10:30 am.  Ladies and Gents will enter through their assigned door and be treated to the tunes of the PCC brass band throughout our service. 

​

Games and visiting will begin following the service.  There will be sack races, tug of war, a bounce house, hammer swing, washer toss and more.  Make sure you try some of the homemade lemonade as you make your way through the festivities.

​

Potluck

We ask that you bring a side that was handed down by a relative or church member along with the recipe and as much history about the dish and that person that you care to share, to accompany our pig roast.  We would like to compile all of the recipes for a commemorative 150th cookbook.

​

Pie Eating Contest

We've had the pie baking contest, now it's time to test your skills in pie eating.  This will be a classic no hands allowed event.  Please sign up today.  Extra bonus points if you can beat Adrienne's pie judging outfit.

​

Softball Game

We will be having a period authentic ball game at 4:30 pm at the Troutville field.  This will be played a bit different with a mush ball, wood bats only and no gloves.  An out will also be called if you catch the ball after one bounce.  In our research we have found that a "Krant" was the name given to individuals who were unhinged over this game.  Kranks brought drums, whistles and horns to disrupt the game, so bring a joyful noise!
